The Film Festival originated as an idea for a GT project by Yuri Stone and Rebecca Zia of River Hill High School. It is a county-wide event, and numerous students have found it to be an excellent means of demonstrating their skills in the art of film and direction.
For the first 10 years, the HoCo Film Fest was held at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. Since 2014, the beautiful meeting room of the Miller Library in Ellicott City has been the central location for our Festival. Participants enjoy seeing their film on the three large screens canvasing the space at the library.
